Big news: “Germany drops opposition to nuclear power in rapprochement with France.”

This seismic shift on nuclear power marks an important milestone in the ongoing and long-overdue global atomic awakening. Chancellor Friedrich Merz's decision to end Berlin's opposition to nuclear energy in EU legislation — giving nuclear similar treatment as wind and solar — doesn't just bolster Franco-German relations (and maybe help put Germany under France’s nuclear umbrella). It signals that even the world's most entrenched, Down Wing anti-nuclear sentiment can evolve in the face of climate and geopolitical realities. You love to see it.
