The newsy bits of the Tesla "We, Robot" event last night were probably the company's unveiling of its first fully autonomous vehicle, the Cybercab, alongside the larger Robovan. Also, I guess, the humanoid robot bartenders. This is all part of Tesla's strategic shift towards robotics and AI, including a competitive robotaxi service. CEO Elon Musk claimed that robots and self-driving cars could push Tesla's market value to at least $30 trillion, nearly 40 times its current valuation. From the WSJ: “Musk said he hopes to sell billions of these robots, which he compared with R2-D2 and C-3PO, characters in the Star Wars films.”
